I am still alive. I just haven’t been able to blog. It’s sad really. When I started out I was able to find the time and now that things have cranked up at work, it is harder and harder. Maybe I need a ghost writer.

Anyway, the big news of the moment is that it is the beginning of the NCAA tournament this week, or as I like to call it, “the greatest event in the world of sports.” There is the drama of the games, the upsets, the passion, the school spirit, the competition from wagering (if you’re into that sort of thing, which of course I am not…as far as you know...), it has it all.

Anyway, if you are into that sort of thing, rumor has it that you can participate in a pool by leaving a comment here with a way for me to email you an official invitation.

Ummm, not from me of course, but from a "friend"....or something.

Where can I get an application to be your ghost writer? I will gladly send you my resume, inflated and fabricated, of course.

Our family has wagers and then wagers going on those wagers, and then wagers on the outcome of those wagers. We've got the triple whammy wager pool going.
March madness indeed.

Update on Dad

Quick post today. My Dad went to see his oncologist today after his latest CT scan. Because things looked good before, he has not had a scan in 3 months which seemed like a long time to be honest. Well, it is all good news. The doctor reports that there are no new spots or lesions and that the existing tumors are shrinking. My Dad will not have to increase his dosage of the drug he is taking which would bring with it new and unwelcomed side effects, so this was the best possible news. He will have another ct in 3 months. Over all, he continues to deal with some side effects from taking the drug, but they are relatively minor and in general, my Dad is doing quite well. Thank you to all who have been keeping him in your prayers. I know it has made a difference. God is good all the time.

Please Pray With Me.

Hello out there in blog land. I am sad to have to report today that we got some bad news regarding my father this week. If you read this blog or know my family, then you know that my Dad has been battling a rare form of aggressive cancer for several years. The first surgery removed a football sized tumor from his abdomen. In a matter of months the cancer returned, this time primarily in his liver. More surgery this past May killed the tumor in his liver. In early August of this year he had a CT which showed no new tumors or growth. The surgery was a success, he had finally recovered and then got a clean bill of health. It was a good month in that regard. Unfortunately, he began feeling discomfort in his liver a couple weeks ago. He went in for a CT this past Friday and then discovered this week what we had feared, but had not allowed ourselves to believe. I Left My Heart.....in San Diego

Out of nowhere, I am going to San Diego this week. Every year my oldest and bestest friend (not including the artist formerly known as StumpTown's wife, of course) meet in San Francisco to see a couple Giants games. This year we were having trouble getting something scheduled and then out of nowhere he has some extra travel budget he has to spend or lose (he visits colleges as part of his job as a college counselor at a super posh prep school in LA), and needs to visit some of the schools in San Diego and wouldn't you know it, the Giants just happen to be in town this weekend. So, a quick frequent flyer free ticket later and I'm hitting the road, or air, or whatever. I will fly out tomorrow and come back Sunday. We should get to see a couple games and I'll be able to catch up with some other friends from college along the way. Should be great.
