Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my lovely wife Tanya or as you in blogland know her as Mactastic...something...something. Tanya is my first love, my best friend, my greatest teacher and most valued ally. We share our faith and our lives and our boys and I am blessed to have spent yet another year with her. We have both known each other for most of our lives and as I have commented about in previous posts, my wife just keeps getting better with age.

I love this day because it is the day my soulmate was born, it is a day to celebrate my favorite person and most importantly, it is the day that my wife is once again 2 whole years older than me which allows me to get more mileage out of all the "old" jokes.

Happy Birthday Ms. Mactastic Flava. Here's to many more.

What a lovely tribute to someone who deserves every word.
She really is MACTASTIC. In fact, since you're a Lawyer, why can't you make everybody else who refers to themsleves as "Mactastic" cease and desist..because she is the only one who can really support that name.

Shorter post today. I thought it would be better if you knew up front. I teach a business law class to junior and senior business students at a couple local colleges. I do it because I enjoy it and one of the colleges is a local Christian school I like to support. One of the things I have come to enjoy is how predictable people are in groups. Get a group of people together and you will always have certain personality types and people playing certain rolls. It is like the various versions of the expression that goes something like, every group of people has at least one person that the rest of the group makes fun of when they are not there. If you can not identify that person in your particular group it is because that person is you. ....or so the saying goes. So Much Going On

Man, I wish I had time to blog, because there is so much going on right now. I just started at a new firm. It is the firm where I started my career and I could not be happier to be back. To make it even better, after going through 16 different secretaries, I now am working with the best of the best and she decided to come with me to the new firm making a good situation that much better. In other news, my lovely wife and I just got back from the Zoe worship conference in beautiful Fresno, California. Here were some of the highlights in mostly chronological order: We left the kids with the grandparents and drove down. That’s right we drove the 12+ hours from Portland to Fresno. Apparently, we are just too stupid (and by “we” I mean “me”) to figure out that gas prices probably make flying cheaper, so then the only thing air travel has going for it is the time savings, convenience and lack of extra miles on the car. I Left My Heart.....in San Diego

Out of nowhere, I am going to San Diego this week. Every year my oldest and bestest friend (not including the artist formerly known as StumpTown's wife, of course) meet in San Francisco to see a couple Giants games. This year we were having trouble getting something scheduled and then out of nowhere he has some extra travel budget he has to spend or lose (he visits colleges as part of his job as a college counselor at a super posh prep school in LA), and needs to visit some of the schools in San Diego and wouldn't you know it, the Giants just happen to be in town this weekend. So, a quick frequent flyer free ticket later and I'm hitting the road, or air, or whatever. I will fly out tomorrow and come back Sunday. We should get to see a couple games and I'll be able to catch up with some other friends from college along the way. Should be great.
