Just a quick post to let you know that there will be a memorial service for my Dad on Sunday, March 15 at 4:00 pm at Westside Church of Christ. All are welcome. We appreciate your prayers.
We'll be there in spirit as you celebrate your Dad's life.

Dear Josh -
You and your family have my deepest condolences in the death of your dad. I lost my dad to liver cancer several years ago (it was caused by a bad blood transfusion when he had had by-pass surgery).
Like with your dad, mine was at home and I was there with him and my mom when he died and it was a tremendous blessing for us to be there together.
My heart, love and prayers go out to you all in this time of change in your family. Your dad is now asleep with God watching over him until the Resurrection of us all.
Josh, you did an excellent job at the memorial yesterday. I really liked your comments about the trust fund and hope that you'll consider posting it (or at least excerpts) here for those who couldn't attend (and those of us who did). Peace and blessings to your family this week and always!
My prayers were there for you, but they are still there today. The next few weeks and months will be tough, brother, so the prayers will be lifted up now more than ever. How great is our God!
Josh, you did an amazing job at the service. What you said really made an impact on us, especially Clint. It was a blessing to be there with your family. We will continue to pray for you all.
So sorry to hear about your dad, though we do rejoice in the promises of our REAL life in our forever home. I've not been by your blog in a while so I'm just now (3/18) learning of your dad's death. Even from what little I know about him, it must have been quite a celebration of God's love and grace!!
Quick post today. My Dad went to see his oncologist today after his latest CT scan. Because things looked good before, he has not had a scan in 3 months which seemed like a long time to be honest. Well, it is all good news. The doctor reports that there are no new spots or lesions and that the existing tumors are shrinking. My Dad will not have to increase his dosage of the drug he is taking which would bring with it new and unwelcomed side effects, so this was the best possible news. He will have another ct in 3 months. Over all, he continues to deal with some side effects from taking the drug, but they are relatively minor and in general, my Dad is doing quite well. Thank you to all who have been keeping him in your prayers. I know it has made a difference. God is good all the time.
I had big plans for another post today, but my actual job got in the way. Instead I posted a review for the movie I saw last night: "Thank You for Smoking." It's a good one and the full review is now posted on StumpTown Entertainment. Check it out. One other thought before I go. Tom Hanks' mullet in the Da Vinci Code got me thinking. If so many "rednecks" are wearing mullets these days, are they still rednecks? I mean doesn't that hair protect the back of the neck and keep it lilly white? I wonder what Descartes would say about this? Probably something like: "huh?"
Hello out there in blog land. I am sad to have to report today that we got some bad news regarding my father this week. If you read this blog or know my family, then you know that my Dad has been battling a rare form of aggressive cancer for several years. The first surgery removed a football sized tumor from his abdomen. In a matter of months the cancer returned, this time primarily in his liver. More surgery this past May killed the tumor in his liver. In early August of this year he had a CT which showed no new tumors or growth. The surgery was a success, he had finally recovered and then got a clean bill of health. It was a good month in that regard. Unfortunately, he began feeling discomfort in his liver a couple weeks ago. He went in for a CT this past Friday and then discovered this week what we had feared, but had not allowed ourselves to believe. The cancer had returned and was again in the form of tumors in the liver. In a month’s time one of the two new tumors was ...
